Install Pollinations AI in Google Antigravity

Antigravity loads skills from .agents/skills/ in your project or ~/.gemini/config/skills/ for all projects (official docs). Full guide

EasiestOption 1: paste this to your Antigravity agent
Install the "Pollinations AI" skill for Google Antigravity.
Follow the steps at https://www.antigravityskills.org/install/pollinations-ai.md (source: https://github.com/pollinations/pollinations/tree/main/packages/polli-cli).
Before running anything, show me what you will download and whether it includes scripts, and wait for my OK.
Install it into this project (.agents/skills/) unless I say global. When done, check that Antigravity lists it as an installed skill.

The agent reads the install file, shows you what it will download and waits for your OK.

Option 2: install it yourself
  1. 1. Install the polli CLI
    npm i -g @pollinations/cli@latest

Provides the polli command. Needs Node.js 20 or newer.

  2. 2. Log in once
    polli auth login

Device login in your browser. To store an existing key instead: printf '%s' "$POLLINATIONS_API_KEY" | polli auth login --with-token. Check with polli auth status.

  3. 3. Copy the skill from the installed package into this project
    mkdir -p .agents/skills/polli && cp "$(npm root -g)/@pollinations/cli/SKILL.md" .agents/skills/polli/

The README says SKILL.md ships inside the npm package, so this copy always matches the CLI version you installed. Antigravity reads workspace skills from .agents/skills/<folder>/.

  4. 4. Or install it for all projects (global skill)
    mkdir -p ~/.gemini/config/skills/polli && cp "$(npm root -g)/@pollinations/cli/SKILL.md" ~/.gemini/config/skills/polli/

Use this instead of the previous step. For the Antigravity CLI the global folder is ~/.gemini/antigravity-cli/skills/.

  5. 5. Check that Antigravity sees it

Antigravity 2.0 app: start a new conversation and ask "What skills do you have?"; polli should be listed. Antigravity CLI: run /skills (/skills reload in a session that was already open).

The polli README tells Claude Code, Cursor, Windsurf and Codex users to point their agent at the raw SKILL.md URL; it does not mention Antigravity, and polli harness has no Antigravity adapter. These steps put the packaged SKILL.md into Antigravity's standard skill folders. Generations spend Pollen from your account.

Using Claude Code, Cursor or Codex? See other assistants below.

What is Pollinations AI?

The polli skill is Pollinations' own SKILL.md for its polli command-line tool. It is for people who want their coding agent to generate images, text, speech, music, video or 3D models, transcribe audio, or check what they have spent, using a Pollinations account. The skill is a usage map for the CLI, which is a thin wrapper around gen.pollinations.ai. What we counted at commit 449105d (2026-10-06): SKILL.md is 305 lines / 27,219 bytes with 29 commands in its quick-reference table, 24 recipes, 8 agent operating rules and 7 common pitfalls. The CLI (@pollinations/cli 0.1.30, packages/polli-cli, 107 files, 99 of them under src/) needs Node.js 20 or newer and has 6 runtime dependencies (chalk, commander, json5, open, update-notifier, yaml).

How to use Pollinations AI?

Install the CLI with npm i -g @pollinations/cli@latest, log in once with polli auth login, and give your agent the SKILL.md. Then ask for media in plain words, for example "generate an image of a fox reading a book and save it as fox.png". The skill tells the agent to check login with polli auth status, prefer --json, fetch the live model list instead of hardcoding model IDs, and always pass --output for images, audio and video.

Key features of Pollinations AI

  • ✓polli gen image, text, audio (speech, music, sound effects), video, 3d and embeddings
  • ✓Speech transcription, voice change and speech isolation
  • ✓polli upload turns a local file into a public URL for image-to-image or vision prompts
  • ✓Model discovery and health stats (polli models --type, --stats)
  • ✓Balance, usage history and API key management (polli usage, polli keys)
  • ✓Agent rules: check auth first, prefer --json, don't hardcode model IDs, always set --output

When to use Pollinations AI

  1. 1Generating images or short videos from a coding agent
  2. 2Creating narration or text-to-speech audio files
  3. 3Transcribing a recording to text
  4. 4Checking Pollen spend before running a batch

Installation & Setup Guide

Agent Rules / Prompt Setup

Follow these steps (taken from the project's own docs) to configure Pollinations AI in your development environment.

Step 1: Install the CLI and log in (README)claude
npm i -g @pollinations/cli@latest && polli auth login

Provides the polli binary; polli auth login runs a device login.

Step 2: Claude Code: point the agent at the skill (README)claude
Read https://raw.githubusercontent.com/pollinations/pollinations/main/packages/polli-cli/SKILL.md and follow the instructions to generate media with the polli CLI.

The README's "For AI agents" section gives this prompt for Claude Code, Cursor, Windsurf and Codex. It does not give a skills-folder path for Claude Code.

Step 3: Cursor: same prompt (README)cursor

The README names Cursor for the same prompt as step 2 and gives no Cursor folder or config path.

Step 4: Hosted MCP (any Streamable HTTP client)claude

packages/mcp/README.md: connect to https://gen.pollinations.ai/mcp/pollinations and send Authorization: Bearer YOUR_KEY with every request (key from enter.pollinations.ai). It lists 16 tools.

Usage Example & Verification

Prompt / Request Example
1) SKILL.md example (Recipes): polli gen image "a fox reading a book, studio ghibli style" --output fox.png. Ask: "Generate an image of a fox reading a book, studio ghibli style, and save it as fox.png."
-> What happens: the agent checks polli auth status, then runs that command. SKILL.md says the default model is zimage at 1024x1024; the cost is taken from your Pollen balance.

2) Our example: "Turn the first paragraph of README.md into a short narration and save it as intro.mp3."
-> What happens: per the text-to-speech recipe the agent pipes the text into polli gen audio --output intro.mp3. The default voice is sage; it may run polli models --type audio --json to pick another.

3) Our example: "How much Pollen do I have left, and what did my last 5 requests cost?"
-> What happens: polli usage --json for the balance and polli usage --history --limit 5 --json for costs. SKILL.md warns that history can lag 30-60 seconds behind.
Installation Confirmation Method

Ask "What skills do you have?" in a new Antigravity conversation (CLI: /skills) and look for polli. Then run polli auth status in a terminal and ask "How much Pollen do I have left?".

Official instruction-only skill for the polli CLI; it spends your Pollen, sends prompts and uploads to Pollinations' servers, and uploaded files become public links.

Full review: scope, findings, risks
Audit Scope:Static review of pollinations/pollinations at commit 449105d (2026-10-06; re-read 2026-10-14): packages/polli-cli/SKILL.md in full, packages/polli-cli/README.md, package.json, src/harnesses/index.ts and claude-code.ts, src/lib/update-notice.ts, a search of packages/polli-cli/src for child_process, hosts and 'antigravity', packages/mcp/README.md, LICENSE. The rest of the CLI source was reviewed by search only.
Key Findings:SKILL.md is instructions only, with allowed-tools: Bash(polli *). The CLI talks to gen.pollinations.ai, enter.pollinations.ai and media.pollinations.ai (uploads); update-notifier checks the npm registry. child_process is used for audio playback (src/lib/play.ts), self-update (src/commands/update.ts), sandbox SSH (src/commands/sandbox/ssh.ts), MCP client setup (src/mcp/clients.ts) and the codex, claude-code and openclaw harness adapters. Needs a Pollinations login or POLLINATIONS_API_KEY. Harness commands write other tools' configs (e.g. ~/.openclaw/openclaw.json, ~/.pi/agent/*, ~/.pollinations/claude-code.json) after backing them up.
Identified Operational Risks & Permissions:Paid usage on your Pollen balance. Uploaded files and generated media links are public. Prompts and files go to Pollinations' servers. The CLI can create and revoke API keys on your account.

Static review at commit 449105d. packages/polli-cli/SKILL.md contains only usage documentation and asks for Bash(polli *) as its allowed tool. A search of packages/polli-cli/src shows requests to gen.pollinations.ai, enter.pollinations.ai and, for uploads, media.pollinations.ai; src/lib/update-notice.ts loads update-notifier, which checks the npm registry for new CLI versions. child_process is used for audio playback (afplay, ffplay, mpv or mpg123 in src/lib/play.ts), self-update (src/commands/update.ts), sandbox SSH (src/commands/sandbox/ssh.ts), MCP client setup (src/mcp/clients.ts) and three harness adapters. Harness commands (polli harness <name> on/off) back up and then edit other tools' config files, and only run when you call them. Authentication is a device login or POLLINATIONS_API_KEY stored by polli auth login. SKILL.md warns that uploaded files get a public URL, that backgrounded generations can fail silently, and that per-model flags can be ignored. The CLI was reviewed by search, not line by line.

Operational Notes & Known Limitations

Known Limitations

  • •Requires the polli CLI (Node.js 20+ per package.json) and a Pollinations login or API key; the skill alone does nothing
  • •Every generation is billed in Pollen to your key; SKILL.md says some models need Paid Pollen
  • •Image inputs must be public http(s) URLs. polli upload makes a local file public by URL (SKILL.md: up to 400 MiB, 30-day lifecycle)
  • •SKILL.md says per-model flags can be silently ignored, e.g. wan-fast video always returns 5 seconds whatever --duration you pass
  • •allowed-tools: Bash(polli *) is Claude Code's permission syntax; do not rely on it as a limit in other agents
  • •polli harness has 10 adapters in the code (bloom, claude-code, codex, dsh, hermes, opencode, openclaw, pi, prime, tgpt; we counted), while SKILL.md lists 8. None is for Antigravity, and the claude-code adapter only points Claude Code at Pollinations models through a separate settings file; it does not install this skill
  • •Antigravity is not mentioned in packages/polli-cli (we searched). We reviewed commit 449105d; 6 newer commits have changed packages/polli-cli since (as of 2026-10-14)

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the Pollinations skill safe?

In our static review of commit 449105d, SKILL.md is instructions only. The CLI it drives sends prompts and files to gen.pollinations.ai and media.pollinations.ai, spends Pollen from your key, makes uploads public by URL, and uses update-notifier to check npm for new versions. Harness commands edit other tools' config files only when you run them.

How do I install the Pollinations skill in Antigravity?

Install the CLI (npm i -g @pollinations/cli@latest), run polli auth login, copy SKILL.md from $(npm root -g)/@pollinations/cli/ into .agents/skills/polli/ (or ~/.gemini/config/skills/polli/), then ask "What skills do you have?" (CLI: /skills).

Is there a Pollinations MCP server instead?

Yes, a hosted one at https://gen.pollinations.ai/mcp/pollinations with 16 tools listed in its README, such as generateImage, generateText and getBalance. It needs a Bearer key. The old local stdio server is discontinued (last version @pollinations/mcp@2.5.0).

Do I need an API key or account?

Yes. Run polli auth login once, or store an existing POLLINATIONS_API_KEY with polli auth login --with-token. Generations are paid from your Pollen balance.
