An MCP server gives the Antigravity agent new tools: read your files, query a database, call an API. You add it in one JSON file. Below: where that file is, the two formats, how to check it worked, and 8 servers we have read the code of.
Remote servers need serverUrl. A README written for Cursor or Claude often says url; in Antigravity that loads no tools and shows no error.
3. Check that it loaded
Antigravity 2.0: Settings (bottom left) โ Customizations โ Installed MCP Servers โ Refresh. If the server needs a login, click Authenticate. CLI: type /mcp.
8 reviewed MCP servers
Each one: what it can do on your machine (from our static code review) and the Antigravity config. Full review and steps on its page.
Local stdio MCP server that sends your prompts, and any local image or video you name, to Google Veo with your GOOGLE_API_KEY and saves MP4 files to VEO_OUTPUT_DIR; no other network calls, shell commands or telemetry.

Local MCP server that talks only to Apple's servers, runs AppleScript on macOS, stores tokens in your OS keychain and can change your Apple Music library and playlists; no telemetry found.
Acts on your Portainer with your API key and can change real infrastructure; read-only mode and secret redaction are available, and the project is deprecated upstream since 2026-10-08.
Official DigitalOcean server with full API reach under your token or OAuth login (429 tools, 56 delete-style, 50 high-risk at commit 28eda15); scope the token and enable only the services you need.
Official hosted server with Figma OAuth; the guide repo has no server code but bundles skills with scripts, and the remote tools can write to your Figma files.
~/.gemini/config/mcp_config.json for all projects; Google's codelab says Antigravity 2.0, the IDE and the CLI share this one file. For one project only: .agents/mcp_config.json in the project root.
Why does my remote MCP server not show any tools?
Antigravity expects the key serverUrl for remote (HTTP) servers. Many READMEs write url or httpUrl for Cursor or Claude; Appwrite's Antigravity guide says those make tool registration fail silently. Rename the key to serverUrl and refresh.
How do I check that a server loaded?
Antigravity 2.0: Settings (bottom left) โ Customizations โ Installed MCP Servers โ Refresh. The server should be listed; servers that need a login show Authenticate. Antigravity CLI: type /mcp.
Are MCP servers the same as skills?
No. A skill is a folder with a SKILL.md that teaches the agent how to do a task and goes in .agents/skills/. An MCP server is a program (local or hosted) that gives the agent new tools, such as reading files or calling an API, and goes in mcp_config.json. Some tools ship both.
