Install SEO Fundamentals in Google Antigravity

Antigravity loads skills from .agents/skills/ in your project or ~/.gemini/config/skills/ for all projects (official docs). Full guide

EasiestOption 1: paste this to your Antigravity agent
Install the "SEO Fundamentals" skill for Google Antigravity.
Follow the steps at https://www.antigravityskills.org/install/seo-fundamentals.md (source: https://github.com/sickn33/antigravity-awesome-skills/tree/main/skills/seo-fundamentals).
Before running anything, show me what you will download and whether it includes scripts, and wait for my OK.
Install it into this project (.agents/skills/) unless I say global. When done, check that Antigravity lists it as an installed skill.

The agent reads the install file, shows you what it will download and waits for your OK.

Option 2: install it yourself
  1. 1. Download the repository
    git clone --depth 1 https://github.com/sickn33/antigravity-awesome-skills.git /tmp/ag-skills && git -C /tmp/ag-skills log -1 --format=%h

    We reviewed commit 2984de1. If the second command prints a different hash, the skill may have changed since our review.

  2. 2. Copy the skill into this project (workspace skill)
    mkdir -p .agents/skills && cp -r /tmp/ag-skills/skills/seo-fundamentals .agents/skills/

    Run from your project root. Antigravity reads workspace skills from .agents/skills/<folder>/; this folder holds SKILL.md and scripts/seo_checker.py (2 files). The script is optional and only runs if you run it.

  3. 3. Or install it for all projects (global skill)
    mkdir -p ~/.gemini/config/skills && cp -r /tmp/ag-skills/skills/seo-fundamentals ~/.gemini/config/skills/

    Use this instead of the previous step. Copy only the skills you need: the repo README warns that a large watched skills folder can overload Antigravity's context.

  4. 4. Check that Antigravity sees it

    Antigravity app: start a new conversation and ask "What skills do you have?"; seo-fundamentals should be listed. Antigravity CLI: run /skills (/skills reload in a session that was already open).

The repository's own installer (npx agentic-awesome-skills --antigravity --skills <ids> --dry-run, README) can also install selected skills; the copy steps above use the standard Antigravity skill folders and install only this one.

What is SEO Fundamentals?

seo-fundamentals is a community skill in sickn33's antigravity-awesome-skills repository. SKILL.md (184 lines, 6,428 bytes) is a reference of principles in eight tables and notes: E-E-A-T, Core Web Vitals, technical SEO, content, structured data, AI-assisted content, relative importance of factors and measurement. The folder also contains scripts/seo_checker.py (219 lines, 6,584 bytes), a stdlib-only checker that reads local page files. SKILL.md never mentions the script, so an agent following only the instructions will not run it.

How to use SEO Fundamentals?

Install the folder and ask the agent to apply the principles to a page or draft, for example "review this page against SEO fundamentals". To use the checker, run it yourself (or ask the agent to) from the skill folder: python3 scripts/seo_checker.py <project_path>. It prints a summary, a JSON result and exits 0 when no issues were found and 1 otherwise.

Key features of SEO Fundamentals

  • ✓We counted at 2984de1: 2 files, SKILL.md (184 lines, 6,428 bytes) and scripts/seo_checker.py (219 lines, 6,584 bytes).
  • ✓SKILL.md says E-E-A-T is not a direct ranking factor but a quality framework, and that Core Web Vitals (LCP under 2.5 s, INP under 200 ms, CLS under 0.1) rarely override poor content.
  • ✓States there is no fixed ranking-factor order; when competing pages are similar it lists content relevance and quality highest, authority and trust high, page experience and mobile medium, technical accessibility as the baseline.
  • ✓AI-assisted content section: judge output quality, not how it was written; risky use is unedited AI output, factual errors, thin or duplicated text.
  • ✓seo_checker.py uses only the Python standard library (sys, json, re, pathlib, datetime). It looks at up to 50 .html, .htm, .jsx and .tsx files, skips folders such as node_modules, dist, build, .git and tests, and reports: missing title, missing meta description, missing Open Graph tags, more than one H1, and images with no or empty alt.
  • ✓The checks are plain text matches (for example any 'title=' or 'Head>' in a file counts as having a title), so expect false positives and misses; it does not render pages.
  • ✓The script only reads files and prints to the terminal: no network imports, no file writes, no subprocess, no eval or exec.

When to use SEO Fundamentals

  1. 1Check a draft or page against basic on-page and quality principles
  2. 2Run a quick local scan of a small static or React project for missing titles, descriptions, OG tags and alt text
  3. 3Explain E-E-A-T and Core Web Vitals in plain terms to a client or teammate
  4. 4Use as a baseline before running the deeper seo-audit skill

Installation & Setup Guide

Agent Rules / Prompt Setup

Follow these steps (taken from the project's own docs) to configure SEO Fundamentals in your development environment.

Step 1: Claude Code (manual copy)claude
mkdir -p .claude/skills && cp -r /tmp/ag-skills/skills/seo-fundamentals .claude/skills/

Not documented per skill by the repository; this uses Claude Code's standard .claude/skills/ folder after the clone above.

Step 2: Cursor: not documented by the projectcursor

The README lists installer targets for several hosts, but gives no per-skill Cursor path, so we do not list one.

Usage Example & Verification

Prompt / Request Example
1) Our example (the SKILL.md sample request is a leftover about a campaign asset and does not match this skill): "Review this landing page copy against SEO fundamentals and tell me what to fix first."
-> The agent answers from the principles tables: intent and depth, title and H1, trust signals, Core Web Vitals risks.

2) Our example: "Run the SEO checker on ./site and summarise the issues."
-> The agent runs python3 scripts/seo_checker.py ./site and reports counts per issue type; remember it uses text matching.

3) Our example: "Is E-E-A-T a ranking factor?"
-> Per the skill: not a direct one; it is a framework used to evaluate quality.

Full review: scope, findings, risks
Audit Scope:skills/seo-fundamentals/SKILL.md and scripts/seo_checker.py read in full, plus the repository README install and disclaimer sections and LICENSE, all at commit 2984de1 (2026-10-21). Static review only; nothing was executed.
Key Findings:SKILL.md: no commands or URLs. scripts/seo_checker.py: imports sys, json, re, pathlib, datetime only; reads files under the path you pass (read_text) and prints; no open() for writing, no subprocess, no network, no eval or exec; one bare try/except around stdout encoding setup. Exit code 1 when issues are found, which matters if you wire it into CI.
Identified Operational Risks & Permissions:Low. The script only reads the folder you point it at. Point it at a project folder, not at your home directory, because it scans recursively.

skills/seo-fundamentals/ contains SKILL.md (184 lines) and scripts/seo_checker.py (219 lines). We read both in full. SKILL.md has no commands and does not mention the script. The script imports only sys, json, re, pathlib and datetime, globs for .html/.htm/.jsx/.tsx under the given path (skipping node_modules, dist, build, .git, test and similar folders, max 50 files), reads each file as UTF-8, matches strings and regexes, and prints a summary plus JSON. We found no network access, no subprocess, no eval/exec and no file writes. README says the project is independent and not affiliated with or endorsed by Google; its install section documents Antigravity IDE and CLI (agy) installers. This is a static review; we did not run the script.

Operational Notes & Known Limitations

Known Limitations

  • •The script is a heuristic text matcher, not an HTML parser; it does not check canonicals, structured data, links, speed or indexation.
  • •It stops at 50 files and skips folders named docs, examples, test and similar, so large sites are only sampled.
  • •SKILL.md does not tell the agent about the script; ask for it by name.
  • •The principles are general and undated; check Google's current documentation for thresholds and policies.
  • •The "Example" and "Limitations" sections at the end are generic template text (the example asks about a campaign asset).

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the SEO Fundamentals skill safe?

In our static review of commit 2984de1: SKILL.md is advice text, and scripts/seo_checker.py (219 lines) only reads local files and prints results. It imports sys, json, re, pathlib and datetime, makes no network calls, runs no subprocesses and writes no files.

How do I install SEO Fundamentals in Antigravity?

Clone sickn33/antigravity-awesome-skills, copy skills/seo-fundamentals into .agents/skills/ (or ~/.gemini/config/skills/), then ask "What skills do you have?" (Antigravity CLI: /skills).

How do I run the SEO checker?

From the skill folder run python3 scripts/seo_checker.py <project_path>. It needs only Python 3. It checks up to 50 HTML, JSX or TSX files and exits with status 1 if it finds issues.

Is it a full SEO audit?

No. It is a principles guide plus a small checker. For a structured audit with severity and evidence use the seo-audit skill.

Is it an official Google skill?

No. It is community-contributed to an independent collection whose README says it is not affiliated with or endorsed by Google.
