Anthropic's task-management skill: the agent keeps your to-dos in a plain TASKS.md file with Active, Waiting On, Someday and Done sections.

Security Reviewed

Very low risk: a Markdown-only skill that edits a local TASKS.md file.

Install Task Management in Google Antigravity

Antigravity loads skills from .agents/skills/ in your project or ~/.gemini/config/skills/ for all projects (official docs). Full guide

EasiestOption 1: paste this to your Antigravity agent
Install the "Task Management" skill for Google Antigravity.
Follow the steps at https://www.antigravityskills.org/install/task-management.md (source: https://github.com/anthropics/knowledge-work-plugins/tree/main/productivity/skills/task-management).
Before running anything, show me what you will download and whether it includes scripts, and wait for my OK.
Install it into this project (.agents/skills/) unless I say global. When done, check that Antigravity lists it as an installed skill.

The agent reads the install file, shows you what it will download and waits for your OK.

Option 2: install it yourself
  1. 1. Download the repository
    git clone --depth 1 https://github.com/anthropics/knowledge-work-plugins /tmp/kwp && git -C /tmp/kwp log -1 --format=%h -- productivity

The second command prints the last commit that changed the productivity plugin. We reviewed it at 8444efc; a different hash means it changed after our review.

  2. 2. Copy the skill into this project (workspace skill)
    mkdir -p .agents/skills && cp -r /tmp/kwp/productivity/skills/task-management .agents/skills/

Run from the project root where TASKS.md should live.

  3. 3. Or install it for all projects (global skill)
    mkdir -p ~/.gemini/config/skills && cp -r /tmp/kwp/productivity/skills/task-management ~/.gemini/config/skills/

Use this instead of the previous step. For the Antigravity CLI the global folder is ~/.gemini/antigravity-cli/skills/. Tasks still go into TASKS.md in whichever folder you are working in.

  4. 4. Optional: add the task board
    cp /tmp/kwp/productivity/skills/dashboard.html .

Copies the board next to TASKS.md. Open it in Chrome or Edge and pick your TASKS.md; it fetches a font from Google Fonts.

  5. 5. Check that Antigravity sees it

Antigravity 2.0 app: start a new conversation and ask "What skills do you have?"; task-management should be listed. Antigravity CLI: run /skills (/skills reload in a session that was already open).

The knowledge-work-plugins READMEs document Cowork and the Claude Code plugin only and do not mention Antigravity. These steps copy the plain SKILL.md folder into Antigravity's standard skill folders. No API keys or binaries needed.

Using Claude Code, Cursor or Codex? See other assistants below.

What is Task Management?

task-management is one of the four skills in Anthropic's productivity plugin (anthropics/knowledge-work-plugins). It is for people who want their agent to keep a to-do list without another app: tasks live in TASKS.md in the folder you work in, a Markdown file both you and the agent edit. The agent adds tasks as bold checkbox items with who they are for and a due date, moves finished ones to Done with a strikethrough and date, and tells you what is overdue or what you are waiting on. What we counted at commit 8444efc (2026-10-01; the productivity folder is unchanged at the repository's latest commit 02ffa99 on 2026-10-14): SKILL.md is the only file in the folder, 91 lines / 430 words / 2,604 bytes, with a fixed 4-section template (Active, Waiting On, Someday, Done) and 4 phrase triggers. The plugin around it (version 1.3.1) adds start, update and memory-management skills and a 3,111-line dashboard.html.

How to use Task Management?

Copy the folder into Antigravity's skills folder (steps below), open the project or notes folder where your TASKS.md should live, and talk about tasks: "add a task", "what's on my plate", "done with X", "what am I waiting on". If TASKS.md does not exist, the agent creates it from the template. When you ask it to summarize meeting notes, it offers the commitments it found as tasks and asks before adding them. The skill is set to user-invocable: false, so it triggers from your request rather than a slash command.

Key features of Task Management

  • ✓Plain TASKS.md with Active, Waiting On, Someday and Done sections
  • ✓Task line format: - [ ] **Task title** - context, for whom, due date
  • ✓Done: - [x] ~~Task~~ (date), moved to Done; Done items kept about a week
  • ✓Summaries of Active and Waiting On with overdue items highlighted; waiting items carry "since [date]"
  • ✓Asks before adding tasks it extracts from meeting notes
  • ✓Optional dashboard.html board from the plugin that edits the same TASKS.md

When to use Task Management

  1. 1Keep a per-project to-do list the agent updates as you work
  2. 2Ask what you are still waiting on from other people
  3. 3Capture commitments from meeting notes as tasks
  4. 4Mark tasks done and keep a dated record for a week

Installation & Setup Guide

Agent Rules / Prompt Setup

Follow these steps (taken from the project's own docs) to configure Task Management in your development environment.

Step 1: Claude Code: add the marketplace (README)claude
claude plugin marketplace add anthropics/knowledge-work-plugins

From the repository README.

Step 2: Claude Code: install the productivity plugin (README)claude
claude plugin install productivity@knowledge-work-plugins

From productivity/README.md. Installs task-management together with start, update, memory-management, the dashboard and the 9 connector definitions.

Step 3: Cursor: not documented by the projectcursor

The READMEs cover Cowork and Claude Code only, so we do not list a Cursor path.

Usage Example & Verification

Prompt / Request Example
1) README example (skill trigger): "What's on my plate?"
-> What happens: the agent reads TASKS.md in the current folder and summarizes the Active and Waiting On sections, flagging anything overdue.

2) Our example: "Add a task to send the Q3 report to Maria by Friday."
-> What happens: a line like - [ ] **Send Q3 report** - for Maria, due Friday is added under Active. If TASKS.md did not exist, it is created first with the 4 empty sections.

3) Our example: "Here are my notes from today's standup. Pull out anything I committed to."
-> What happens: the agent lists commitments ("I'll send that over", action items, follow-ups) and asks which ones to add; it does not add them without your OK.
Installation Confirmation Method

Ask "What skills do you have?" in a new Antigravity conversation (CLI: /skills) and look for task-management. Then say "add a task to test the skill"; a TASKS.md with Active, Waiting On, Someday and Done should appear in your working folder.

Full review: scope, findings, risks
Audit Scope:Static review of anthropics/knowledge-work-plugins at commit 8444efc (2026-10-01; productivity/ unchanged at HEAD 02ffa99 on 2026-10-14): productivity/skills/task-management/SKILL.md (only file in the folder), productivity/skills/dashboard.html (external URLs and file APIs), productivity/.mcp.json, productivity/.claude-plugin/plugin.json, productivity/README.md, productivity/LICENSE, README.md.
Key Findings:Instructions only. The agent reads or creates TASKS.md in the current working directory and, on first use, may copy dashboard.html from ${CLAUDE_PLUGIN_ROOT}/skills/. The skill itself has no commands, URLs, environment variables or API keys. dashboard.html requests fonts.googleapis.com / fonts.gstatic.com and uses showOpenFilePicker / showDirectoryPicker to edit TASKS.md, CLAUDE.md and memory/.
Identified Operational Risks & Permissions:TASKS.md may hold names and commitments; keep it out of public repos if that matters. Opening the optional dashboard makes a request to Google Fonts.

Static review at commit 8444efc. productivity/skills/task-management contains only SKILL.md. It tells the agent to use TASKS.md in the current working directory, creating it from a fixed template if missing, and on first use to copy dashboard.html from ${CLAUDE_PLUGIN_ROOT}/skills/dashboard.html into the same directory. There are no shell commands, scripts, URLs, environment variables or credentials in the skill. When extracting tasks from meetings it must ask before adding them. The optional dashboard.html (3,111 lines) loads the Inter font from Google Fonts and reads and writes local files only after you pick them in the browser's file picker. The plugin is Apache-2.0 licensed (productivity/LICENSE).

Operational Notes & Known Limitations

Known Limitations

  • •Tasks are one local file per working directory; this skill has no sync with Todoist, Asana or other apps
  • •We counted: the skill's first-run step copies dashboard.html from ${CLAUDE_PLUGIN_ROOT}/skills/ and tells you to run /productivity:start. Neither exists when you copy only this folder into Antigravity; copy dashboard.html yourself if you want it
  • •We counted: dashboard.html loads the Inter font from fonts.googleapis.com when you open it, and reads and writes TASKS.md, CLAUDE.md and a memory/ folder through the browser's File System Access API (showOpenFilePicker, showDirectoryPicker), which Chromium-based browsers such as Chrome and Edge provide
  • •The plugin's .mcp.json declares 9 connectors (Slack, Notion, Asana, Linear, Atlassian, monday.com, ClickUp, Google Calendar, Gmail) for its other skills; copying this one folder brings none of them
  • •The plugin README says it is designed primarily for Cowork and also works in Claude Code; Antigravity is not mentioned (we searched). Difference from the personal-assistant page on our site: that page covers the whole productivity plugin (memory, start, update); this page is the task list alone

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the task management skill safe?

In our static review of commit 8444efc it is one Markdown file with no scripts, commands or network calls. It reads and writes TASKS.md in your working folder and asks before adding tasks from meeting notes. The optional dashboard loads a Google font.

How do I install it in Antigravity?

Clone anthropics/knowledge-work-plugins, copy productivity/skills/task-management into .agents/skills/ or ~/.gemini/config/skills/, then ask "What skills do you have?" (CLI: /skills).

Where are my tasks stored?

In TASKS.md in the current working directory. You can edit it by hand too.

Does it connect to Todoist or Asana?

Not this skill. The plugin's separate update skill uses connectors such as Asana or Linear.
